well, i haven't blogged in a while... everything is starting to jump over here in Uganda, and i still don't have the resources that i need to get everything going on our side of things. i am going around the long way to get everything done, and it is getting redundant. i did however have 10 interviews yesterday, and hired 10 people. pretty good odds if you ask me. pretty much, the interviews consisted of me telling the prospects what i expected of them, and if they violate safety issues, they would be immediately let go. their eyes got a little big when i said that, because Ugandan companies have to give employees a month notice before firing them. i had to inform them that we are an American company, and those practices don't apply to us. i can deal with training issues, and i can replace damaged equipment (not easily) but i can't bring people back to life or replace lost body parts. everyone over here wants to get into the oilfield. it's new and the talk of the country. i had a couple of interviewees that would in no way shape or form make it as a field hand, so it was a good thing i needed some engineers. everyone i hired yesterday had at least a 2 year degree in engineering, but no one over here understands oil, so training is a must. i'm getting a warehouse manager hired on Monday, and will eventually hire non-degreed field hands after start up. that is about all i have, so i'll go for now.

so you hired 10 engineers? Or some field hands? Are you gonna train them yourself?
